Serious Sam 3: Before First Encounter is an upcoming first-person shooter video game in development by Croteam. It will be the latest game in the Serious Sam series and a prequel to the original game, Serious Sam: The First Encounter. Serious Sam 3: BFE will be set in Egypt and feature a 16-player co-operative campaign mode. The game is set for release in Q3 2011 on PC and unspecified consoles. Thus far, the only logical interpretation of "BFE" has been "Before First Encounter"; given the fact "Serious Sam Stone" was sent back in time through the Time Lock to destroy the evil sent by Mental. Considering the setting is based on Earth, it would only make sense that the events unraveling in Serious Sam 3, are those that brought Serious Sam to the "First Encounter" in the first place...."
